Light in the Darkness: Helping Sick Kids

Maria at Four Blessings Academy is hosting an uplifting meme for every Monday called Light in the Darkness. Here we share stories of hope and joy. We can link to a news article or video or tell a story from our own lives. Post about your story and then link to Maria's blog. There is enough negativity in this world. Let's spread some joy and light up the darkness!

So this man loses his son to leukemia. Wanting to help out the hospital where his son spent a lot of time, he doesn't just give them some money. He decides to provide a service to sick kids and their families. An ongoing service. This is an awesome story. Don't forget the tissues.

I just love stories like this, where people take their own personal tragedies & turn them into something good. What a wonderful man! Thank you for sharing this!

I do too. It must have been so healing for him. And to turn one's own pain into something to help others to heal. God bless!

I loved this video, Colleen - what a wonderful man! He turned a terrible tragedy into a beautiful opportunity to help others in great need. Like you have done as well. How it must touch God's heart when people have the love and the courage to reach out to those who are suffering when they are suffering as well.

God bless!

Mary, thank you for your beautiful words. Yes, it must touch God's heart. I also think it is God's grace that helps us - all of us - do these things. Pick up our cross and help others. God is so awesome. Our God is an awesome God! Love that song!

Wow. What a wonderful ministry to those sick children and their parents. God bless that man who used his own tragedy as a catalyst into helping others.
