Take, Lord, and Receive

One of my favorite prayers is the prayer called Take, Lord and Receive by St. Ignatius. You may have heard of it or you pray it yourself. Here is a video of the prayer set to music that I found at IgnatianSpirituality.com along with tons of other resources on Ignatian spirituality and prayers.

Enjoy!

This is just the most perfect prayer of surrender! I memorized another one of St. Ignatius' prayers, the one that begins with, "Lord, I so wish to prepare well for this time..." Also a really good one. I say it in the morning before starting my day. Loved this video too.

Very beautiful. I love the AMDG - Ad maiorem Dei gloriam, this is the motto for so many schools, even non Jesuit ones including the non-denominational Christian school all four of my children attend.
Did you notice shortly after the scene of the breaking of the host in the consecration there was a little cracking sound in the video. It repeats a couple more times, not sure if it is intended by the creator of the video or not, but seemed to be a powerful reminder to me of the Eucharist, and the sacrifice on Calvary that says to our hearts, yes surrender it all to Him, and live for the Greater Glory of God.

I gave always loved that prayer but had never seen that video. Your post refreshed me today.

Jade, I agree - it is the best prayer on surrender except maybe Merton's but that is too long to memorize!! :)

Colleen, I did notice that crackle. Beautiful reminder. Thanks Colleen.

Jean, that video was new to me, too. Glad you were refreshed!! God bless!
